HTM 06-02 Authorised Person Course
This course meets the Authorised Person training requirements defined within Health Technical Memorandum 06-02 (HTM 06-02). We also offer a
HTM 06-02 Competent Person Course
Our HTM courses have been updated to include the requirements
of the 2023 version of HTM06-02
All of our
HTM 06-02 courses are delivered by our principal instructor who is a chartered
electrical engineer (CEng MIET). His
vast experience creates a high quality learning environment where candidates are
encouraged to ask questions and propose scenarios for risk and countermeasure
discussions.
The candidates for this course are likely to be practicing
Electricians with a good understanding of BS 7671
Time Required: 4
days for up to 6 candidates dependant on prior experiance. 5 days for up to 8 candidates

requirements relating to electrical safety (Electricity at Work Regulations)

Review of Health Technical Memorandum 06-02

Duties and responsibilities of personnel

Types and functions of common low voltage distribution switchgear including miniature circuit breakers (MCBs), relays, fuses and interlocks

Testing of electrical installations to BS 7671 and IET Guidance Note 3

Requirements of BS7671 with reference to HTM 06-02
-
Isolation of standby UPS and battery systems including the issue of permits-to-work and certificates of authorisation for live working
-
Practical exercises completing safety programmes, isolation and earthing diagrams, permits-to-work, LW1 self check, certificates of authorisation for live working and LW2 forms
-
Completion of logbook and filing of documentation

Appointment and auditing procedures

Monitoring and control of work undertaken by staff/contractors

Cable detection, location and identification
